Participation in CERT requires the successful completion of a training course on a range of subject matter specific to emergency response and disaster relief. All classes will be held at the Multi Service Center, 124 Grand Street starting at 9:30am sharp and concluding at 4:00pm. There will be a 1 hour lunch break between modules. The training schedule is as follows:
10/24/2015 - Disaster preparedness & Fire safety
10/25/2015 - Disaster medical operations 1 & Disaster medical operations 2
11/1/2015 - Light search and rescue operations & CERT organization
11/7/2015 - Disaster psychology & Terrorism in CERT
The final drill and exercise location and date will be announced during the class.
Participants must attend every module of training as well as participate in the final emergency simulation exercise in order to receive certification as a fully trained CERT Team member.
Upon completion of the training, each participant will be issued a CERT Member Emergency Kit.

Sept 4th, 2013: Press conference at 11am with Mayor Zimmer to announce the "Hoboken Ready" campaign!
A series of Hoboken Ready community meetings will be held throughout Hoboken to provide information on how to prepare and to answer questions:
- Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 7:00pm, Wallace School (11th St & Willow Ave)
- Thursday, September 12, 2013, 7:00pm, Multi Service Center (124 Grand St)
- Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 7:00pm, Jubilee Center (601 Jackson St)
Additional meetings will be held for seniors (September 25, 2013, 5:00pm at the Multi Service Center), for students in schools, for high rise buildings, and for residents of the Hoboken Housing Authority.

John Dooley passed away this week. John was one of the first CERT members in
Hoboken. He also worked for the city for many years with the parking utility.
R.I.P John. We will miss you.

April 4, 2013: Congratulations to Hoboken’s latest CERT graduates in April! A ceremony was held at City hall to welcome our 55 new graduates. In attendance were CERT Team Coordinator Lou Casciano, Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Public Safety Director Jon Tooke, OEM Deputy Coordinator Joel Mestre, Police Chief Anthony Falco, Fire Chief Richard Blohm and CERT Captain Maggie Shields.
July 4, 2013: Hoboken CERT will be helping the community on July 4th Hoboken if unique in that it is an optimum spot for over 20000 spectators to view the spectacular Macys Fireworks show. Our team will be deployed to do various tasks around the city.
