What is HERT?
The Hoboken CERT Team is a quasi-governmental
organization comprised of volunteers. Like many other government programs CERT is mandated by law to
follow certain government policies and procedures but does not receive dedicated government funding to
pay for CERT activities, tools or training.
The Hoboken CERT team has formed incorporated HERT, Hoboken Emergency Response Team as a 501(c)3 organization in order to help raise funds to furnish our CERT team’s needs. HERT is just beginning our fundraising activities but our goal is to look into foundation giving, grants (government and otherwise) and corporate giving programs. If any of the companies you work for have corporate giving programs please reach out. As a non-for-profit organization, we always are in need of funding to be prepared for the next possible storm or disaster. Our current goal is to update our communications system (ie walkie-talkies) and to buy a truck to be able to help move necessary items and trailers around the city. Office supplies, equipment and professional services are also welcome. Any contribution you feel comfortable making is appreciated. |
