What is HERT?The Hoboken CERT Team is a quasi-governmental organization comprised of volunteers. Like many other government programs CERT is mandated by law to follow certain government policies and procedures but does not receive dedicated government funding to pay for CERT activities, tools or training.
The Hoboken CERT team has formed incorporated HERT, Hoboken Emergency Response Team as a 501(c)3 organization in order to help raise funds to furnish our CERT team’s needs. HERT is just beginning our fundraising activities but our goal is to look into foundation giving, grants (government and otherwise) and corporate giving programs. If any of the companies you work for have corporate giving programs please reach out. As a non-for-profit organization, we always are in need of funding to be prepared for the next possible storm or disaster. Our current goal is to update our communications system (ie walkie-talkies) and to buy a generators. Office supplies, equipment and professional services are also welcome. If you'd like to see what we need, we have set up a Wish List on Amazon.com. Having some of these items BEFORE the next disaster is crucial! Please visit our page here. Any contribution you feel comfortable making is appreciated. Thank you for your help! How to donate to HERT?
